goodbye fall hello winter
it's the end of december!! how crazy!! im back home in LA for the holidays and it's gloomy and cozy and i've got my mom's fireplace on. let's get into some life updates.?
LIFE IN AUSTIN + MICKEY
first things first, yes i did pay money to go to JCPenny’s and do a photoshoot with my dog. if you didn’t get the physical card that’s a shame. mickey has passed all of his obedience classes (he’s a trained service dog now in fact) and slays at his agility class.
the austin update is i am in fact still in love with it. we’ve been having the best fall weather and i get to wear my little vest and go on my lady bird lake walk and look at all the orange leaves. austin lovessss Christmas and i took getting into the holiday spirit very seriously this year. i started things strong with going to the nutcracker, went to mozart’s light show, the trail of lights and hit some good festive Christmas bars. i imagine it’s going to get very cold very soon so i’ve been trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible lately. i’ve also gotten back into tennis so that’s fun.
LUNA
all is well in the Luna world and I’m stoked to be planning some things for next year. i put together a little end of year recap and we recently threw an awesome show in Austin. we’re working on our 22nd print issue (!) and have got a lotttt of cool things in the pipeline for next year.
LOOKING TO 2024…
if you know me i’m a bigggg planner and you already know i’m in full visualization mode for 2024. i recently lead a luna workshop where i went through my personal method of moodboarding my goals and how i actually translate these aspirations into action items. i feel pretty damn good about 2023 and am genuinely excited for 2024.a lot of my main personal goals for 2024 revolve around organizing my finances (cause i’m an adult now) and really leaning into the wellness path i’ve been on. id also really like to explore more of texas!
CURATION TIME:
SONGS I’VE BEEN LISTENING TO LATELY
MOVIES/TV:
SALTBURN!!! SO GOOD!!
Boy and the Heron - beautifully done, worth seeing, but the plot gets pretty wild especially at the end.
Wonka - slayed and i’ll stand by that. sparked JOY and captured that childlike whimsy we all need.
The Bear - feel like I'm late to the party but I ran though the 2 seasons pretty fast, loved it.
Schitt’s Creek - i know i am majorly late to the party on this one but y’all should have forced me into watching this sooner!!
Honorable mention: Yes i did rewatch all of the twilight movies over the course of 4 days (both breaking dawn movies in 1 day)!
QUESTIONS FOR YOU
What are you doing over the holiday break?
Does your family have any traditions you look forward to? My family always go to Candy Cane lane and we have a big Christmas breakfast I love. We also make gingerbread houses together and I got to pick them all out this year.
What do you hope your 2024 has in store for you? What do you hope to focus on?What are you visualizing for yourself?
Who do you think is headlining Coachella? If you know you can send me NDA and tell me :)
What a year!
I’m hanging with my family in Seattle for the holidays.
I actually kind of dread this week, having to deal with multiple christmases and divorced parents who aren’t willing to be flexible, causes a lot of extra stress and anxiety at a time I would like to relax and reset.
For 2024 I want to spend more time outside, and more time on creative endeavors. I really let my singing practice routine fall apart in the later half of the year. I also want to try and meet and connect with more people outside of the work place in Austin.
I know nothing about Coachella, never gone, and it doesn’t quite seem like my scene. But hopefully Rezz is there, she slays (as the kids say).
